We are back from the wedding and what a good time we had! I danced (S didn't), we laughed and I danced some more. I danced mostly by myself but every once in a while a stranger would dance with me for a song or two.
In the end I chose a whole new outfit to wear to the wedding (thanks ma!) as what I had put together was deemed rather basic.
I felt comfortable at the wedding, a change from the norm, and thoroughly enjoyed the day and night. I wonder whether this is because I know and love the person who got married; or perhaps it's just because I am older and more comfortable in my own skin, maybe I've just stopped caring. Whatever the reason, I had a wonderful time.
And the shrug? The shrug was completed in time. I'd show you pictures but it's being blocked as I write; I wore it within an hour of casting off! The shrug was a good idea for a November wedding - it kept me warm and the lace pattern lent visual interest to the rest of my outfit.
It was a good decision not to drive South for the wedding! We returned to a landscape blanketed in white!

In other news, Christmas is officially here. This week I'll write and begin mailing cards - gotta get the ones going to our friends across the pond sent. I'm also thinking about those things I really want this year. Last year I received some... items on my Amazon wish list. Ordinarily, this would be a good thing but my Amazon wish list was more of a place to keep "things of interest" than an actual wish list so getting random things off it isn't always good. Needless to say, I have now tidied up and told folks about the "priority" feature. The list now consists of only those things I'd truly appreciate. I'm still considering pinterest but at present, think it's just another road to wants.
In return (I am so excited about Christmas and life in general that) I will be knitting a handful of presents. Nothing big mind, just hats and neck warmers for all. This year's "all" includes a couple of people not normally on the Christmas present list but I've been thinking of them throughout the year so why not?
Off to run some errands.

Show the shrug; quick!
